Anyway, We have another GOOD NEWS about the Reserve Bank reducing interest rates by 1% again. This is an effort to prevent Australia's Economy from sliding down into recession. I can say that over and over again that we are in very good position with the rest of the WORLD. No doubt our Government is fully aware of what's happening outside and together with the Reserve Bank they are doing everything to help our economy intact.
Which BANK passed what? Commonwealth Bank was the first to announce the rate cut from their side. They will be passing on the full 1% to all it's customers. ANZ have announced that they will pass 0.83% and Westpac will be passing on 0.80. St.George were the last to announce their plan to pass on 0.85%. In others, ING too have passed on 1% rate cut Suncorp, AMP are yet to announce their decision.

Australian house prices won’t crash the way its US counterparts did
It is no secret that the US house prices significantly decreased in value due to the global financial crisis triggered by the subprime loans in the US. The trend will continue with more people losing their jobs. There will be more houses in the market, as more and more people will default from their loans.
Other countries have declared they are in recession. The fears are widespread that whatever is happening in the US economy will be felt in other countries including Australia.
However, the governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia, Glen Stevens had an interesting analogy why Australian house prices won’t crash. He pointed out the significant difference affecting the house price movement in Australia and the US. Mr. Stevens said that US house prices are dropping sharply because there is an oversupply. Meanwhile, Australia’s lack of supply boosted house prices. Although, Australian house prices can still fall…it will be gently.

"That's just the way I am."
When we hear this, someone is usually telling us, "Get off my back" or "Accept me as I am." Often it's a response to criticism. It could be about chronic lateness, thoughtlessness, broken promises, physical or verbal abuse, or infidelity. Whatever it is, we're asked to let it go.
In the end, this is a ploy to get us to lower our expectations based on the dubious idea that certain bad habits are an intrinsic part of character and therefore beyond our control. We're expected to believe it's foolish and futile to expect a person to change.
There are, of course, lots of things that are beyond our control: short stature, big bones, receding hairline. Fortunately, character is different. That's completely within our control. The poor and the rich, the slow and the smart, the plain and the pretty all have an equal opportunity to become people of character.
Sure, character can be influenced by heredity and environment, but it's determined by choice. No disposition, circumstance, or experience is so powerful that it forever fixes our character. That is never finished. It's constantly shaped and sculpted by the choices we make to nurture or ignore our more noble instincts and to surrender to or overcome negative impulses and corrupting temptations.
When it comes to what we demand of ourselves or others, we should never lower our standards. Character is a function of choice. Weaknesses and bad habits are not excuses not to get better.

Top 5 ways to save interest in your home loan
1. Pay your home loan fortnightly. At the end of each year, you’ll end up paying an extra month reducing the amount of interest in your home loan and shortening the loan period as well. But make sure that your bank reflects the extra repayments in your loan and not just recalculate the annual loan due into 24 repayments.
2. Sacrifice a weekly or monthly indulgence that you can live without. For instance, you can have coffee at home or take the free coffee offered at work, instead of spending money daily to take coffee breaks. If you usually come home late due to work and you’re rarely at home during weekends, maybe you won’t feel the difference of cutting your Foxtel subscription. You can put any savings into your home loan. You’ll be surprised how every additional $100 towards your loan can save you up to $ 100,000 plus in interest and cut years from your total home loan period.
3. Maintain the same repayments in an environment of falling interest rates. If you can afford to pay the same repayments then do so. It can help you pay off your loan faster. For the past three months, the interest rate went down by 2 per cent and some analysts forecast it will continue the downward trend. Depending on your loan amount, you could end up saving hundreds of dollars from your loan repayments. However, if you maintain the same repayment then you’re accelerating the payment for your loan.
4. Choose the shortest period loan period you can afford. If you can afford to pay your loan in 25 years instead of 40 years then do it. We’re talking about $100,000 plus in interest savings in return for adding a few hundred dollars more in your loan repayments.
5. Link your home loan to a 100 percent offset account. Any money in your transaction account will help reduce your interest payments.
